Quand on est con on est con

"When one is stupid one is stupid", sings one of my favourite  balladeers, Georges Brassens  who takes no prisoners, metaphorically speaking….just like that “con” below…who kills indiscriminately: orthography, language and Jews, and this time I'm not speaking metaphorically.  Although perhaps the idiot is more malicious than stupid - which gives me a pretext to post  the quote of the day:

"When the consequences of  stupidity become indistinguishable from the consequences of malice, it is wiser and safer to assume malice."

Will one Muhammad cartoon a day….

...keep the doctor away?

Daniel Pipes thinks so, and so do I. He asks:

"...What would happen if publishers and managers of major media reached a consensus, "Enough of this intimidation, we will publish the most famous Danish Muhammad cartoon every day until the Islamists tire out and no longer riot"? What would happen if instances of Koran burning happened recurrently? Would repetition inspire institutionalization, generate ever-more outraged responses, and offer a vehicle for Islamists to ride to greater power? Or would it lead to routinization, to a wearing out of Islamists, and a realization that violence is counter-productive to their cause?

I predict the latter, that a Muhammad cartoon published each day, or Koranic desecrations on a quasi-regular basis, will make it harder for Islamists to mobilize Muslim mobs. Were that the case, Westerners could once again treat Islam as they do other religions – freely, to criticize without fear. That would demonstrate to Islamists that Westerners will not capitulate, that they reject Islamic law, that they are ready to stand up for their values.

So, this is my plea to all Western editors and producers: display the Muhammad cartoon daily until the Islamists get used to the fact that we turn sacred cows into hamburger."

Quote of the Day:

"If you want to know who rules over you,
simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize."

Aux Champs Elysées...

... then:

... and now:

At least four  French laws were broken there, on the Champs Elysées in front of the American Embassy with impunity and in front of the police:

1. At the moment, any religious protest marches are forbidden in France.

2. Several  women defied the law forbidding the full face veil.

3. Muslims Prayers in the Street have been illegal for over a year. Consequently here, on the Champs-Elysees, facing an immobilised police force this was yet  another law-breaking provocation.

4. Threatening the “Jews” with genocide, although quite fashionable these days among islamists, is not exactly legal in France. And the slogan “Khaybar! Khaybar! Ya Yahoud” literally translated means: “(remember) Khaybar! (remember) Khaybar! Oh Jews!”. Khaybar was the place where the Jews were massacred, and their women and children enslaved..

Incidentally, the Champs Elysees have become rather tacky over  the last few years.

A tale of two children...

...and of two cities

Violence and shouts of Allah Akbar in the Streets of Sydney yesterday....

A mother?

Will this picture go into the family album...childhood memories?

This is the little girl, massacred to the shouts of "Allah Akbar" in Toulouse, France, in March this year.

Veni, vidi,…but ...

...Obama is no Julius Caesar!

Andrew Bolt  asks, not without irony I think: "How naive was the Obama Administration?" .

. I have now seen and heard Obama, the usual suspects in the media and even the Vatican in a disgraceful sprint as to who would be the fastest to mouth the predictable mantra:  “we must not offend the sensitivies of the Muslims and their peace-loving religion - bla bla bla - the people who made this film insulting Islam are bad bad bad - bla bla bla “. Obama, first off the block, won. But I have also seen the trailer of this so-called anti-Islamic film, which apparently caused all this violence. The film-maker by the time I arrived had metamorphosed into an American Jew (two for the price of one). At the risk of stepping on some “sensitivities” toes, I have to say, with my usual positive subjectivity, that no Jewish film maker could possibly make such a bad fake of a film. And deliver it with the punctuality of a German train - i.e. right on time for the release of  this mob violence (at the time of writing it has spread to Egypt, Tunesia, Yemen)  in “celebration” of this horrid horrid date all of us know. Caroline Glick writes:
... The attack in Libya was well planned and executed. It wasn’t about a spontaneous protest against some ridiculous internet movie of Muhammad. The assailants came armed to the teeth, with among other things, RPG 7s. They knew that the US Ambassador was in Benghazi rather than Tripoli. They knew how to track his movements, and were able to strike against him after he and his colleagues left the consulate building and tried to flee in a car...
I soooooo wanted to like Obama but I now think he has blood on his hands, as does Hilary Clinton. Their defence claims "naivity" - but I think, when  the consequences of "naivity"  become indistinguishable from the consequences of complicity, it is wiser and safer to assume complicity.

1984 IS NOW...

...and it's all George Orwell's fault.

Writing in the spring of 1945 a long essay titled "Antisemitism in Britain," for the Contemporary Jewish Record, Orwell stated that anti-Semitism was on the increase in Britain, and that it was "irrational and will not yield to arguments." He argued that it would be useful to discover why anti-Semites could "swallow such absurdities on one particular subject while remaining sane on others." He wrote: "For quite six years the English admirers of Hitler contrived not to learn of the existence of Dachau and Buchenwald. ... Many English people have heard almost nothing about the extermination of German and Polish Jews during the present war. Their own anti-Semitism has caused this vast crime to bounce off their consciousness." In Nineteen Eighty-Four, written shortly after the war, Orwell portrayed the Party as enlisting anti-Semitic passions against their enemy, Goldstein.
Plus ça change, plus ça reste la même chose...
