Eugenics anyone ?

Cizik School of Nursing has created a REMI Platinum Award-winning documentary film that tells the grim cautionary tale of nurses who participated in the Holocaust and abandoned their professional ethics during the Nazi era. The 56-minute film, Caring Corrupted: the Killing Nurses of the Third Reich, casts a harsh light on nurses who used their professional skills to murder the handicapped, mentally ill and infirm at the behest of the Third Reich and directly participated in genocide.

I do not know why, but somehow, some things in this harrowing documentary look strangely familiar to me...perhaps it's  a case of ..."...the more things change, the more they stay the same..."   ?

(Not) Everybody Knows

 

I have no other information on that one, except that, although recorded in 2005, it has aged well and tells us everything that is happening today.  

For reasons of self-censorship, I shall not elaborate, after all I am in the beast's cage.

I had the immense pleasure to see this show, one of his last life shows I think,  when  Leonard Cohen brought it to Australia.

I strongly  self censor myself in this blog, just so you know.  

This beautiful voice is the one of a lady well into her nineties. That in itself is to be admired. 

But she articulates the words so well, that it is the first time ever  I understood, what the song, and especially the melancholy that permeates it, is all about....
