Postcard from the Vatican

"Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. 14But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."... (Matthew 19:13)

Adieu Lou Reed

"...By daring to stare death in the face and continue to embrace life as a Jew, Lou Reed defined his own rock n’ roll path as a uniquely Jewish path. Daring to do more than “walk on the wild side” but enter into the realm the Jewish mystics call the Sitra Ahra or the “Other Side” and then return to the Sitra de’Kedusha or the “Sacred Side” was something I only experienced in his music..."

writes Rabbi Aubrey L. Glazer about Lou Reed, and he concludes his eulogy:

"...This musical journey of Lou Reed—one that in 1965 accompanied Warhol’s Exploding Plastic Inevitable—is what inspired me along my path to the rabbinate. Through his music as life, Lou Reed reminded me of that annual obligation of crossing all boundaries with the utter seriousness of carnivale that Jews still call Purim—that “Halloween Parade”. That same album New York from 1989 is where Lou confronts the Nazi fugitives like Kurt Waldheim and anti-Semitic candidates like Jesse Jackson, so that with “Good Evening Mr. Waldheim” Lou dares to remove the mask! Reed saw the absurdity of life surrounding him and despite it all—following Fackenheim’s call for the 614th commandment not to grant Hitler a posthumous victory—he embraced life! May the memory of rock n’ roll animal, Louis Rabinowitz—Lou Reed, be a blessing, and in the final words of the Warsaw Ghetto rebbe in 1943: Es zol zich zingen a shira —“So shall the song sing itself.”

Postcard from Russia

As I said before:  the more I see of Obama, the more I like Vladimir Putin

The subtitles might be a little squashed, so here is the transcript for easier reading:

Address by the President of Russia
Vladimir Putin
At the Valdai-Forum
19 September 2013
(an extract)
A further challenge (=Danger) for the national Russian identity is connected to the processes we observe outside of Russia. They include foreign policy, moral and other aspects.
We see that many Euro-Atlantic (= the West) States have taken a course where they deny or reject their own roots, including their Christian roots which form the basis of Western civilisation.
In these countries, the moral basis and any traditional identity are being denied – national, religious, cultural and even gender identities are being denied or relativised.
There, politics treats a family with many children as equal to a homosexual partnership (juridically); faith in God is equal to faith in Satan.
The excesses and exaggerations of Political Correctness in these countries indeed leads to serious consideration for the legitimisation of parties that promote the propaganda of paedophilia.
The people in many European States are actually ashamed of their religious affiliations and are indeed frightened to speak about them.
Christian Holidays and celebrations are abolished or “neutrally” renamed, as if one were ashamed of those Christian holidays. With this method one hides away the deeper moral value of these celebrations.
And these countries try to force this model onto other countries, globally. I am deeply convinced that this is a direct way to the degradation and primitivization (of culture). This leads to deeper demographic and moral crisis in the West.
What can be a better evidence for the moral crisis of a human society (in the West) than the loss of its reproductive function?!
And today nearly all “developed” Western countries cannot survive reproductively, not even with the help of migrants.
Without the moral values that are rooted in Christianity and other world religions, without rules and moral values which have formed and been developed over millennia, people will inevitably lose their human dignity (=become brutes).
And we think it is right and natural to defend and preserve these moral (Christian) values.
One has to respect the right of every minority to self-determination, but at the same time there cannot and must not be any doubt about the rights of the majority.
At the same time as this process at a national level (in the West) we observe on an international level the attempts to create a unipolar, unified model of the world, to relativise and remove institutions of international right and national sovereignty. (Putin speaks about the US-Imperium).
In such a unipolar, unified world there is no place for sovereign states. Such a world needs merely vassals.
From a historical perspective, such a unipolar world (of the USA) would mean the surrender of one’s own identity and of God-created diversity.
Russia will side with those who defend the point of view that important global decisions have to be made on a collective basis, and not in the interest of only one state (USA) or one group of states (NATO).

Who Will Protect Tommy And Kev?

I have said what I think of Tommy Robinson's and Kevin Carrol's so-called "defection" here and elsewhere.

h/t  VladTepes

Those who consider it a "lowly working class issue" sneer, those who see it as a victory gloat, those who feel abandoned hurt.  It's to the latter ones that I say:  They threw the mould away when they made Tommy Robinson, don't throw him away.

München, Musik & Mosleme

I told you before, I am an unashamed fan of alliteration ;)

(...as seen through the rose-coloured glasses of a travelog)

(...as heard through the rose-coloured ears of this native Bavarian)

...as  experienced physically by a man who wears no rose-coloured glasses.  In fact, after they were broken violently, on his face, he now wears in lieu of glasses the bloody mark of a man who has the courage to speak up for his country, in the face of politicians, media and onlookers, who seem to be every bit as cowardly and/or malignant today as they were just an average human life span ago.

Sheik Yermami from Winds of Jihad describes this brave and passionate man  at  Vlad Tepes like so:

"Michael Stuerzenberger is one of the most courageous men in Europe today. Every Saturday, and sometimes during the week, come rain or shine, he is out there in Munich’s town centre to warn people about the spread of Islam and the planned mega mosque/Islamic centre in Munich, which has to be a symbol of conquest, larger than the largest church, so that the howling of the muezzin can terrorise the people over loudspeakers and rouse the believers to fight. Stuerzenberger recently had his bank accounts terminated and the mayor of Munich, a certain Mr Uhde, has given warnings to publicans not to host Stuerzenberger and his fellow freedom fighters, which is a form of state sanctioned terror against an upstanding citizen..."

Just found this picture of Michael Stuerzenberger,

I love it,
no wonder the haters hate him.

Normal Muslims

When Eeyore at Vladepesblog suggests, as he did for this video, to "watch it, even if you watch nothing else today", I usually follow his advice and am rarely disappointed. This one, I think, is an eye-opener even for the willingly blind ones.

When I watch all those raised arms, I am reminded of a dark period in Germany, not all that far away...what is it with those raised arms.....

Gates of Vienna quotes the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan who, confronted with the phrase "moderate Islam" back in 2007,  responded:

"These descriptions are very ugly,
it is offensive and an insult to our religion,
There is no moderate or immoderate Islam.
Islam is Islam and that's it."

Who are the Raaacists?

I  like Pat Condell's take-no-prisoners commentaries, and admire his courage to show his face.

Words of Comfort scratched on the Mirror
of your typical 'progressive'
(apologies to Dorothy Parker)

Helen of Troy had a wandering glance;

Sappho's restriction  was only the sky;

Ninon was ever the chatter of France;

But oh, what a good girl am I  !

While speaking of those euphemistically named "progressives" and assorted sneering idiots, here is another grotesque monstrosity they have brought into this upside-downside world: the BDS:

Postcard from "Apartheid" Hebron

So, this is "apartheid"?

I bet this photo will not be shown, let alone make the title page, of any media outside Israel. This wouldn't fit in with the narrative of "Israel and the Jews are bad m'kay".

Palestinian child hurts himself: Israeli soldier tends to it.

Europe-Israel writes:

"...la photo a été prise ce matin, dans une ville qualifiée d’ « apartheid » par les médias occidentaux: Hébron. L’enfant s’est blessé. Tsahal l’a soigné."

"...this photo was taken this morning in a city accused of "apartheid" by Western medias: Hebron. The (palestinian) child hurt himself. Tsahai teds to it."

Tommy Robinson & Kevin Carroll: Thank You

The editorial in Lars Hedegaard's Dispatch International the "day after" read:

"The night they drove Tommy down"

an allusion to this song methinks:

"So EDL leaders Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll have allied themselves with the Quilliam Foundation, drawing howls of outrage from street demonstrators and armchair activists alike. It is understandable, to a degree, that genuine footsoldiers of the counter-jihad feel aggrieved by what they see as an act of betrayal, but those throwing around accusations of 'sell-out' and 'traitors' from the security of their online activist La-Z-Boy recliners should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves..."

...writes Paul Weston in an article of which I am posting some extracts here because this rare English politician (rare because courageous) articulates eloquently what I feel about this developing drama which I have temporarily put into the "there-is-more-to-this-than-meets-the-eye" category.

This  picture - a thousand words

"...In order to understand the level of pressure and stress that living under the constant threat of death brings with it, one has had to have lived as Tommy and Kevin have done for many years. How can we really imagine what it is like to live in a heavily Islamified area and to still speak out, to be the public face of an anti-Islamisation organisation?

How can we really understand what every waking hour is like for such men, when not only are their own lives threatened but also those of their wives and children? Can we really imagine arriving at the school gates and hearing the violence and hatred aimed at both ourselves and our children? Can we really imagine that even when sleeping a sudden crash or bang nearby could mean the decapitation of your entire family?

I don't think anyone can really understand this, short of Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll. And this went on day after day, month after month and year after year.

Tommy and Kev are not well liked by the British state who provide them with no protection at all. Nor are they rich enough to buy security and isolation from fear. When the BBC's Andrew Neil blithely announced Tommy's real name on television, he was in effect calling down a death sentence on him, sanctioned by the state. On top of this comes the constant harassment and persecution by the police, by the media, by radical Muslims and by what appears to be the entire leftist world, which unfortunately for all of us is the overwhelming power in Britain today..."

This picture: another 1000 words

"...So no, I do not blame Tommy and Kev for making their lives both easier and longer by stepping away from the English Defence League. Living under such constant pressure is impossible, and how they did it for so long I will never know. I experienced just a small amount of their everyday lives via the visceral hatred of the state-sponsored UAF at Walthamstow recently, which was incredibly intimidating. I took my strength from these two men who knew exactly what was coming but refused to back down in the face of mob violence and the fear it manifests – a fear we were all feeling as we saw the police lines buckling before the screeching, howling, rock throwing, murderously violent leftist mob – supported by Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron.

Bravery is not about having a casual disregard for violence, pain and death. Bravery is looking such terrifying prospects in the eye and standing up to them, no matter how scared one feels inside. And bravery on this scale is pretty rare. Those who exhibit it in wartime tend to win medals for courage in the defence of their country, and I have no doubt that if Tommy and Kev were young men during World War II they would both have won the Victoria Cross for acts of conspicuous bravery..."

"...In short, Tommy Robinson and Kevin Carroll are the bravest and most honourable men I have ever known. I am privileged and honoured to include them amongst my friends. In the face of real, genuine evil and terror they have stood up and they have been counted. It is not for us to sneer and accuse them of betrayal, the way many commenters are now doing..." More here:

Today Tommy Robinson twittered:
"95% people will now listen"

Update 15. October 2013: on Twitter:

Marine Le Pen...

...is one of the very few French politicians I still respect. I hope for  "the people of France" that she will be their  President, if not in 2017, then at the very latest 5 years later. After that it will be too late... for France.

And, even as we were sub-titling this video (thank you Eeyore) another illegal migrant boat, carrying more than 200 people sank south of Lampedusa:  same cause, same place same outcome.  As  Australia's most eloquent truth-teller, Andrew Bolt writes:

Teary visits and national days of mourning won't stop the drownings"

Marine Le Pen shows the way to that first option.

Who gassed the children of Syria? Update

Who gassed the children of Syria  was the question then and it still remains unanswered. Perhaps the answer is hidden somewhere in this video I found at vladtepes:

The Nairobi Massacre: nothing to do with Islam?

Soi-disant 'leaders' and the media (of the kind that Nietzsche would have labelled "die Herde") assure us that the recent terrorist attack in Nairobi, Kenya had nothing to do with Islam and that, by killing non-muslims, the terrorist group al-Shabaab had violated the commands of Allah and Mohamed.

From what I saw, I think this massacre had EVERYTHING to do with Islam.

David Wood thinks so too, with the difference that he articulates it more brilliantly than I ever could, and he comes from a position of extensive knowledge in this field.

I LIKE Netanyahu !

I like him as he was then...

...and I like him as he is now:

“...If Israel is forced to stand alone, Israel will stand alone.
Yet in standing alone, Israel will know that we will be defending many, many others...”

“...A nuclear-armed Iran in the Middle East wouldn’t be another North Korea.
It would be another 50 North Koreas...”

"...I'd rather have a bad press than good eulogies..."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

(Pamela Geller)

Looking at the map below, the little red spot being Israel, I think she is right.

^^^The little blue spot shows the size of Israel^^^
