Calais: Testimony of a Woman

The following poignant testimony from Simone, a native of Calais was published on the 8. February on Riposte Laique. It was recorded "the day after" (the 6th February) during an event organised by Riposte Laique and Résistance Républicaine in Rungis, in solidarity with PEGIDA. Rungis is a place some 12 km outside of Paris, because, unlike Antifa, Free Borders and assorted violent thugs from the extreme left,  French Patriots do not get  permission from French Authorities to demonstrate in Paris (or in Calais as we have seen).

There were 12 speakers, one of them was Simone Héricourt. This courageous woman described "from the heart and in my own words" (as she said) what Calais was before the “Jungle”. Now violent Illegals  have made the daily life a hell for Calaisians. They feel (and ARE) abandoned by the Government and live in fear.

This, to me, seems a microcosm (albeit with meanwhile 18,000 illegals living in the Jungle, a rather big microcosm) of what is happening in Europe now and will happen globally if we cannot stop it.

The speech is  raw and authentic and became one of the most poignant moments of the day , even though there were 11 other speakers of the highest calibre.

A few comments regarding the translation: 

Simone  speaks sometimes in a delightfully  old-fashioned argot the soul of which gets lost in translation. But then there is also that more easily translatable innate pudeur of a true Lady, when, for example, she'd rather not say the word "brothel" and alludes to it as that..."...you know what I mean...that.. for the convenience of gentlemen".  And my personal  favourite is the passage where her intelligent humour really shines: 

"... they tell us these [illegals] are a “cultural enrichment” for us....I ask myself where their cultural riches are. Because if it is to sack, to destroy, to steal, to rape and so on, the French were fully capable of doing it themselves, one only had to ask."

Sometimes when I'm not sure about a word, I will replace it with "(not clear)". This happened a few times in this video and I am very grateful to the "anonymous" reader  who filled in the voids. Thank you "Anonymous". 

At 5 minutes 50 seconds, “ils ont décidé de faire, de… de condamner Calais…” (meaning to abandon or give up on Calais).

At 7 minutes 27 seconds, “parce que mon mari qui a été assez malin, nous a fait passer…” (because my husband who was smart enough…).

At 10 minutes, “c’est pas difficile, moi elle m’a banni de sa page…” (meaning she has blocked me from her page or account (facebook, twitter ?).

Betraying your people does not always embellish

On one hand I do want Hollande, Merkel, Cameron, Obama and all the other cowardly so-called "Western Leaders" to hear that woman's cris du coeur, and I think this video should be circulated widely, but at the same time I fear for her: courage does not seem to get rewarded and I am reminded of Guy Béart's song: "Le Premier qui dit la verité,  il doit être exécuté" (The First one who tells the truth must be executed)
